In 2017 Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee released Despacito and it became the most-streamed song during the course of 6 months. The song was a mix of reggaeton and pop music which not only brought attention to Latin music but as well reggaeton. Billboard's Top 100 included four mostly Spanish songs from 2016 as opposed to two in 2015. The Despacito song was at its peak popularity in 2017, however, 19 predominantly Spanish tracks made the Top 100 In 2020, there were 41 of them. Justin Bieber re-mixed Despacito with a Spanish-language version in 2017 and soon after famous artists started working with reggaeton artists. Drake teamed with Bad Bunny to produce MIA (2018), while Madonna worked on Medellin together with Maluma (2019). In the year 2020, some reggaeton musicians felt dissatisfied with the direction it was moving towards the more mainstream. Rauw Alajandro is a participant in a fresh generation that aims to change the course. He often incorporated elements from electronic dance music, as well as different forms.
