In 1997, she made her acting debut at the age of thirteen. It was her first acting appearance in the year 1997, at age 13. After completing her classes in the field and working as a back-up actor on Canadian series such as Road to Avonlea, Harriet the Spy and Goosebumps and was offered an interview on the Canadian horror show Are You afraid of the Dark? and Goosebumps. Both series were aired by YTV. "2" Following commercials, she played a her role in Goosebumps as well as other movies, which included The Dresden Files (Mom's had an Date with a Vampire, Alley Cats Strike, Prom Queen, The Marc Hall Story) Vandervoort was offered a leading role in CTV's teen drama Instant Star. The show lasted four seasons. Vandervoort began her feature film debut in 2006, with The Lookout. She starred in the film alongside Jeff Daniels and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Matthew Goode was also present. Vandervoort's career in television began with CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Her next project was the part of Clark Kent's Kryptonian Cousin "Kara Kent", (the woman who will later become Supergirl) as part of The CW serial-drama show Smallville. Her appearances on seasons seven and eight were in the form of a regular on the season, "Bloodline". 3. In the tenth season and its final episode Smallville, she returned for two more episodes. 4 After The CW and Smallville, Vandervoort filmed the sequel of the film Into the Blue titled Into the Blue 2: The Reef. The Jazzman is her third independent film. She also starred the Canadian actor Michael Ironside, who appeared in both two episodes of the V miniseries and the regular 1984 V series.
