JessicaJessica Michelle Chastain (born March 24 1977) is an American actor and producer. Known for primarily starring in films with feminist themes. she has been awarded numerous awards such as an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award. Time magazine named her one the 100 most influential individuals across the globe in 2012. Chastain started acting at an early age. In 1998, she made her debut on stage as Shakespeare's Juliet. After her studies in acting at the Juilliard School, she was hired to a talent holding agreement with television producer John Wells. She was a frequent guest star on several television shows and also played a variety of roles in stage productions. Chastain's first film appearance was in Jolene (2008) when she was the age of 31 years old. In 2011, Chastain achieved her breakthrough with six films, including The Tree of Life (2011), Take Shelter (2011), and The Tree of Life (2012). Chastain received Academy Award nominations for playing an aspiring socialite in period drama The Help (2011) and an CIA analyst in the suspense thriller Zero Dark Thirty (2012). The science fiction films Interstellar (2014), The Martian (2015) and It Chapter Two (2018) were more commercially successful. Chastain has also received praise for playing strong-willed women in the dramas A Most violent Year (2014), Miss Sloane (2016), and Molly's Game (2017), and the miniseries for television Scenes from a Marriage (2021). In the biopic The Eyes of Tammy Faye (1921) she was Tammy Faye Bakker. She took home the Academy Award as Best Actress. Tammy Wynette was the miniseries George & Tammy (222). Chastain is the creator of the production firm Freckle Films, which was founded to encourage the inclusion of diverse film makers. She is an investor in the soccer club Angel City FC. She is vocal about gender and race equality. Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo (fashion executive) is her spouse.
